I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Architecture in the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. I obtained my M.S. Degree in 1994 at the Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona in the Politechnic University of Catalonia.
I am doing my research with the Operating Systems Group (GSOMK), integrated within the High Performance Computing Group (HPC) in the Department of Computer Architecture.
Formerly, I was working at the CIM Centre (ICT/UPC).
I also had a stage as a Summer Student at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN).
And I am a Usenix/SAGE Member.

My research interests are focused on operating systems and environments for shared-memory multiprocessors. I am currently working on CPU scheduling and user-level resource management. I am also involved in characterization of parallel applications.
I am also interested on other computer-related fields, such as real-time systems, industrial control and monitoring systems, and artificial inteligence.
I am teaching undergraduate courses at the Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB). I am also advising students on their undergraduate/graduate projects.
